December 2011 was marked by another bright event – Second 3D-stereo Movie Festival (www.3dfest.ru).

Second 3D-stereo Movie Festival became international. Many foreign movies from different countries (Ukraine, Germany, etc.) were presented during the Festival.

We congratulate winners of the Second 3D-stereo Movie Festival:

Best theatrical film:

Stereo movie “Mia”, “Kinostudia 3D” Studio, Russian Federation;

Best animated film:

Stereo movie “Dangerous express”, “Animatix 4D” Studio, Ukraine;

Best documentary film:

Stereo movie “The northern way”, “Daurov-stereo” Studio in cooperation with “3DTV Vision” and “Store3D.ru Studio”, Russian Federation;

Best music movie:

Stereo movie “Sorry”, “Soulpro” Studio, Russian Federation.

In 1940 famous film director M.I. Romm sad about 3D-stereo movies: “This is the beginning of the new age of the cinematography. It is clear that in a few years 3D-stereo movies will be as usual as sound film”

Organizers did their best to impress all comers. For example workshops and master classes were broadcasted on the Internet in 3D.

The Festival started with a round table. The most topical problems of 3D cinematography were discussed during it. 3D film directors, camera operators, businessmen, students and 3D fans participated in the round table.

In the “Salut” cinema every comer could watch program of the 3D Festival for free in high quality. Modern 3D projector “Christie” was installed in the cinema.

All comers were welcome at master classes. Professional aspects of the modern 3D technologies were presented in the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov and Moscow Cinema Equipment Design Bureau. In the Russian State University for the Humanities was arranged master class touched on cultural, scientific and educational aspects.

Representative Jury headed by people's artist, double laureate of State prize Nevskiy U.A. has chosen deserving winners.

Ceremonial closing of the Festival took place in “Hudojestveniy” cinema.

The program of the festival lasted for a 4 hours. 3D-stereo movie “Concert” was shown after awarding. This movie was produced in 1941 in the Soviet Union. In the end award-winning films

were shown.

Festival aroused a lot of interest. 25 competition entries were sent in 2011. We should admit,

that participants' degree of skill has grown up in comparison with 2010.

Second International 3D-stereo Movie Festival 2011 came to an end but we will be glad to see all comers at the Third Festival in 2012!
